Bailao & Co. is a spiritual lifestyle and wellness brand born from ancestral memory and crafted with sacred intention.

We create objects of devotion — artisanal candles, oils, and garments — that honor the feminine, awaken the senses, and invite ritual into the everyday. Every scent, every texture, every detail is designed as an offering.

Our Heritage

Founded by a woman of Fulani, North African, and Middle Eastern heritage, Bailao & Co. draws from a lineage of women, mystics, and changemakers who understood that beauty is sacred and ritual is power. The name Bailao honors both softness and strength — a tribute to the founder's grandmother and the matriarchal wisdom guiding everything we do.

Our Craft

We begin with hand-poured candles crafted from a luxurious blend of beeswax and coconut wax, paired with fine fragrance oils sourced from Grasse and beyond. In the future, we will expand sourcing to include beeswax from Denmark and Labé, Guinea — returning to ancestral roots while championing local sustainability.

Each candle bears a name — drawn from Fulani language or African goddess mythology — and tells a story of soul, balance, and return. These are more than candles. They are altars of light.

We are also committed to giving back. 20% of all profits from Bailao & Co. support women-led initiatives across Africa. Within this, 15% directly sustains The Ol'New — our sister social enterprise dedicated to empowering women and children through recovery, education, and sustainable livelihoods.
